What are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are gel like substances that are injected beneath the skin to restore volume loss, smooth lines and soften creases or enhance facial contours. There is a verity of dermal fillers that are FDA approved. Both Juvéderm and Restylane are FDA approved dermal fillers containing hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a basic element in connective tissue that can draw and hold water creating hydration and volume. Unfortunately, hyaluronic acid in the skin diminishes with age. Both Juvéderm and Restylane use hyaluronic acid to fill in areas where tissue has been lost or deficient.

What are my options with Juvéderm?

Juvéderm Plus- Lessons moderate to less severe nasolabial folds and oral commissures as well as enhancing lip fullness. Results last up to 1 year.

Juvéderm Volbella- Corrects perioral lines and is used to increase lip fullness for up to one year. This is a thinner hyaluronic acid filler for more subtle lip enhancements and softening vertical lip lines.

Juvederm Vollure- Designed to correct moderate to severe fine lines and facial wrinkles such as nasolabial folds. The results can last 12-18 months.

Juvederm Voluma- Designed to instantly add volume to the cheeks and restoring facial contours. Corrects age related volume loss for up to 2 years.

What are my options with Restylane?

Restylane Silk: Used to fill the fine lines around the mouth and lips with a soft consistency

Restylane Lyft: Designed for cheek augmentation and correction of age-related midface contour deficiencies.

Restylane Refyne: Used to reduce the appearance of moderate wrinkles and fine lines such as nasolabial folds and perioral lines.

Restylane Defyne: Used to fill deeper laugh lines and wrinkles with larger particles.

Restylane Kysse: Designed to add volume to your lips and can smooth upper lip wrinkles.

Am I a suitable candidate for dermal fillers?

Most people are candidates for either Juvéderm or Restylane. The ideal candidate is anyone who wants to restore a more youthful appearance by making the skin look fuller, brighter, and smoother. However, you should avoid fillers if you:

Are under 21 years old
Are pregnant or nursing
Are immunocompromised
Allergic to the components of Juvéderm or Restylane

How should I prepare for my visit?

There is no special preparation, but we do request that no dental procedures be performed within 1 week prior or 2 weeks after filler injection. Patients who are taking supplements or medications that can increase bleeding are at higher risk of bruising. You should inform our office before treatment if you are using any of the following: Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Vitamin E, Fish Oil, or Alcohol. If possible, you should avoid aspirin containing products 14 days before your procedure and NSAIDS 7 days prior to treatment. Avoid alcohol 48 hours before the injection.

What happens during the procedure?

At your initial consultation, Dr. Greer will talk with you about your aesthetic goals and explain the treatment options and target areas that will give you the best result. Dr Greer will also explain what you can expect during your procedure and talk about the outcome. Please arrive to your appointment without makeup if possible. At your treatment session, we will apply topical anesthetic to minimize discomfort if needed. Then, the product is strategically injected directly under the targeted skin area using an ultrafine needle.

Aftercare

You may experience some redness, swelling, and bruising that will gradually dissipate throughout the week. We advise you to avoid exposure to the sun to ensure a smooth recovery. You may notice the treatment results immediately, but the results will gradually improve for a week. Depending on the type of product selected, results may last between 6-18 months.

Providing the best customer service is our priority. We respect your time and ours. There are policies at Point Clear Studio that need to be followed in order to have a satisfactory experience every time. We appreciate your understanding.

A $100 deposit is required upon booking any initial permanent makeup and medical micropigmentation services. A $50 deposit is required for any follow up visits for permanent makeup touchups. This policy is to ensure that you are serious about scheduling your appointment. The deposit will be deducted from the total cost of your appointment. We require 48 hours’ notice if you decide to cancel or reschedule your appointment. In failure to do so, you will be charged a cancellation fee that is equal to your deposit.

A credit card is requested upon booking any injectable or massage therapy service. We currently do not ask for a deposit upon scheduling. We require 24 hours’ notice if you decide to cancel or reschedule your appointment. In failure to do so, you will be charged a $50 cancellation fee.

If you are more than 15 minutes late to your appointment in most cases, your appointment will need to be rescheduled. This is in effort to prevent unfair delays to additional clients. Please plan accordingly, as you will be considered a late cancellation and will be charged the full cancellation fee. In special cases, and when our schedule will allow, we may be able to accommodate the appointment. This will be at our discretion and only with advance notification of late arrival.

We do not provide refunds for any reason as this is an elective service. We ask that you be respectful to our staff. We have the right to terminate any existing client at any time without a refund.

If you have previously had permanent makeup done by another artist and fail to notify us in advance before making an appointment, we reserve the right to refuse service. We also require a clear picture of the previous permeant makeup treated area prior to your appointment.

Healed results will vary with each individual client. No guarantee will be made, and additional sessions may be required to obtain optimal results. Although we give our best efforts to provide you with quality service, many factors can result in a less than desired outcome as each client will heal differently.
